Student Loan Debt Collection Agency
debt collection, the limitation period?

I have a credit card since 1999. I paid it, but not enough to eliminate the debt. the account was sold to a collection agency last year. This agency contact me and I paid them $ 1800.00 and then agreed to pay 100 dollars a month to deal with debt. withdrew money from two months, then stopped N 08 September. Then get a call from another collection agency from 09 May on the same account. have since sold my account back to the collection agency of origin. This collection agency called my old neighbor about my debt. Need to know if this is the period of limitation for the debt. I live in Georgia. I have no income that I'm in college full time. I have no debt except a car note and student loans, and this horrible account. please advice and not be an idiot.

To the extent that they are actively working on collections, the limitation period for collections has not even begun. That said, tell someone outside of you trying to collect violates the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Remind counsel that the refusal may be useful.
